DSP Praneeth Rao’s custody in the phone tapping case will be concluded today. He will appear in Nampally Court this evening before being transferred to Chenchalguda Jail for remand.
During the investigation, Praneeth disclosed that a key suspect, a fellow police officer, had fled to America. Apparently, upon Praneeth’s arrest, the officer anticipated being arrested and promptly fled to America.
Furthermore, Praneeth confessed to engaging in phone tapping alongside the MD of a Telugu news channel. After receiving this information, police raided the MD’s residence last night and seized crucial documents.
Praneeth revealed that a server room was established in the news channel’s office for tapping the calls of various politicians, businessmen, and industrialists.
Meanwhile, the MD of the channel also fled abroad upon Praneeth’s arrest, fearing that he would be arrested as well.
