BARC had released the Ratings of News Channels for Week 18 of 2025 (May 3rd to May 9th). Here we see the 15+ Age Group of AP and Telangana.
It may be noted that India conducted Operation Sindoor in the early hours of May 7th, and so there is a spike in the consumption of the News Channels this week when compared to last week.
On expected lines, TV9 – the Number One Channel, which is also known for spicing up such coverage and was the biggest beneficiary.
TV9’s Rating increased by 4.6% while NTV gained by 0.9%.
In Hyderabad, TV9 gained by a whopping 11.8%.
The remaining channels gained only marginally, but even that is significant for those channels.
ETV AP and ETV Telangana also gained, obviously, without unnecessary spice.
When it comes to the ranking, TV9 and NTV are in the first two positions. TV5 and Sakshi are in the next two.
ABN is in fifth position and V6 is in Sixth.
When we look at the News Channel standings in Hyderabad.
TV9 is at first, ABN at Second, V6 at third, TV5 at fourth, Sakshi at fifth, and NTV at sixth.
The next week’s ratings (Week 19th) will give us further insights about how the News Channels performed when India and Pakistan almost went to war.
