No AP printers for Telangana Text books – KCR

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is upset as four of five companies printing the text books of the state belong to Andhra Pradesh. KCR wants to scrap the entire contract and award them to Telangana Printers. About 3 Crore Text books are printed every year in the state for Class I to X. About 2.4 Crore are distributed for free in government schools and remaining are sold to private schools.

However officials warn that such step at this juncture will disrupt the schedule and the text books may not be ready by the time the academic year begins. Telangana Printers say they will any way get the work as AP printers outsource most work to them, so why not cut out the middleman?

The government may also enter in to legal tangles while cancelling the contract made in United State and so is taking the advice of the law department. Maybe in a day the government will take a decision based on their report.
