No More Central help to Amaravati?

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu couple of days ago says it requires Five Lakh Crores to construct a Capital like Hyderabad for Andhra Pradesh. Reports are emerging that Union government is only favourable to give a maximum of 2500 Crores for the Capital Construction.

This is in accordance to the report of Niti Aayog. The Union government already gave 1000 Crore for basic infrastructure creation in Vijayawada and Guntur cities and another 1050 Crore for Capital Construction. So, the Center is only in favour of giving the rest of the 450 Crores and distance itself.

The state government is arguing how Infrastructure Creation for Vijayawada and Guntur can be added to Capital help. If Center agrees for that, the state may at most get 1450 Crore more for Capital. Interestingly, Center thought of giving 5000 Crore at the start but Niti Aayog finalized that 2500 Crore will be enough. This 2500 Crore will be barely enough to fund the interim secretariat in Velagapudi
