No funds for AIIMS allotted to Andhra Pradesh

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) allotted to Andhra Pradesh is now stalled due to the lack of funds allocation by the center. AIIMS was allotted to AP in the last budget. The state government had already allotted land for the premiere institution in Mangalagiri.

A central committee visited the area and ratified it. However the Union Finance Ministry is sitting on the proposal with out release funds. Even the foundation stone ceremony is also postponed quite a few times now.

This indicates the seriousness of the Central government towards the promised made to the truncated state during the state bifurcation. AP lost all the premiere medical facilities to Hyderabad after the state division. Setting up AIIMS here will improve the situation a lot.
