No GST Effect on Telangana Revenues

Telangana Government has expected GST to have a huge dent in the incomes of the state. We are into the fourth month after GST rollout but there is no negative impact on the state revenues. In fact, the first half of the years has put up impressive 11.6% improvement from the last year.

There is a negative impact of GST for the first couple of months but then the situation has come under control. There is an impact of 871 Crore due to GST Rollout for the first three months and it will be compensated by the Central Government.

As the filing of GST returns is being delayed due to technical issues, the negative impact will be even less, government sources say. There is also a significant growth in the non-GST category taxes like VAT, Excise Tax etc.
