No Hussainsagar cleaning this year!

Telangana Budget is out earlier this week and it is evident that Telangana CM KCR made sure that all his favourite programs have got ample allocations to take them forward. For instance, 150 Crore was allotted to new Secretariat, 100 Crore for Kalakendram near Indira Park and 30 Crore for modernization of Ravindra Bharathi.

All these allocations stand good for those works to happen in this financial year as well, but KCR’s dream project, the cleaning of Hussainsagar has got meager allocation of 10 Crore which will be no where sufficient.

Telangana government announced that it will be emptying Hussainsagar and clean it completely and refill fresh water to make the lake pollution free. Several environmentalists and scientific groups termed it as a sheer waste of public money. However government sources say that KCR did not drop the idea but will take it up very soon and allocate funds at a later date.
