No Magic Drug Yet for Treating Coronavirus

Doctors and scientists across the globe are working furiously to find an effective treatment for Coronavirus but are largely unsuccessful. The whole World is currently residing indoors as social-distancing seems to be the only way to flatten the graph for now.

American President Donald Trump has been excitedly promoting chloroquine as a possible treatment for Covid-19. It has cured some patients and the President is optimistic that it would be the magic drug. Even the Government of India had asked to use the drug in extreme conditions.

Chloroquine is a powerful drug for Malaria. The scientists in the United States say that Chloroquine and other similar drugs can be classed as “investigational therapeutics” because there is not enough data to show they are a safe and effective treatment for the illness.

Until unless clinically proven, Chloroquine can not be used and using it as an Over-The-Counter drug is even more dangerous. “There’s no magic drug out there right now,” Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, USA said the other day disappointing the people across the globe.
