No Place for Andhra People in Hyderabad?

Hyderabad has a huge influx of patients from the neighboring states due to the medical infrastructure. The last week, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao even went on to say that there is a shortage of beds in Hyderabad due to patients from other states.

But then, Telangana Police, on Monday, has tightened rules at the borders. There are media reports that ambulances with patients are being sent back. At the checkpoints, patients attendants are seen having heated discussions with the police.

However, Telangana police say that they will allow ambulances if they have confirmation of beds from the hospitals. They say they are sending only those people who are coming without permission. “They will only struggle if they have no confirmed bed,” they say.

On the other side, the families are fuming at Telangana Government. “This is outright insensitive. Even those with confirmed beds are not being allowed. CM KCR says Telangana embraces every state in the country but it looks like there is no place for Andhra people in Hyderabad,” says a woman on a TV channel after an ambulance with her husband was stopped at a checkpost.
