No Plans Of Arresting Lokesh: Govt To HC

High Court had heard the Anticipatory Bail Petition of Former Minister Nara Lokesh. The CID recently added his name to the Inner Ring Road Case as A14.

AG Sriram attended for the Government. He informed the court they are planning to give CrPC 41A notice to Lokesh and investigate this case.

41A Notice is served in the cases where the arrest of a person is not required and the person who is served the notice is expected to attend before the investigation officer at an appropriate time and location.

The court finished the proceedings since there was no question of anticipatory since there was no chance of arrest.

So, Lokesh is safe in the Inner Ring Road case but there is a danger of arrest in the Fiber Net case and Skill Development Case.

The counsels representing Lokesh immediately moved Anticipatory Bail in those cases as well and requested for Urgent Hearing. The High Court is likely to hear these petitions later today.

If the Anticipatory bail is granted or the Government plans 41A notices in those cases as well, there is no arrest threat for Lokesh.

Update on Bail in Skill Development and Fiber Net cases:

Lokesh’s Anticipatory Bail Petitions in Skill and Fiber Net cases were adjourned till October 4th. HC instructed CID not to arrest Lokesh until then.
