Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy was in Visakhapatnam to conduct a review meeting on Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
He reached the city yesterday and conducted a meeting with the management of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP).
He reached the steel plant today morning and did a meeting with officials for over three hours.
Post the review meeting, HD Kumara Swamy stated there is no question of steel plant privatisation.
He wrote, “After visiting the RINL plant, it is going to be helpful to the country’s GDP and also several families doing the hard work towards day to day needy life. Our responsibility is to save the plant. I wanted to give my message to the employees. Don’t be panicked about the closure. With the Prime Minister’s blessings and support, this plan will permanently do the job of manufacturing/producing 100 percent capacity of the plan.”
With the assurance of the central and state governments, people are now relieved about the plant’s future.
Kumaraswamy will leave for Hyderabad today for a review meeting with officials of the NMDC.
