No solution to Cyber Crime Cases!

2014 has seen a steep increase in the Cyber Crime cases being registered in the city under Section 66A of the Information and Technology Act. Over 250 cases were registered in Hyderabad while not a single conviction is made during the same period. Police say most complaints are regarding to offensive message passed through social networking sites.

The action on such complaints are only dealt with the help of Social networking sites. Where in site managements pull down the posts or hate pages but refuse to give the IP addresses of the person who made the offensive post or comment.

These cases will have to be later dealt with Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty with the permission from the ministry of home affairs. Hence they often turn complex and do not yield any results.
