No Telangana budget till November!

Telangana State’s woes with its maiden budget seem to be far from over. The budget session should have been currently under way but were postponed to October as the Chief Minister scrapped the entire draft budget and ordered for a fresh one which reflects the vision of his government. As many as 14 task forces were constituted to prepare KCR’s dream budget but those task forces continue to miss their deadlines. According to government sources, the budget sessions can not be convened before November now. And the budget passed in November will serve the state from January to March.

Government is thinking on the lines to seek a vote on account budget for these three months. The vote on account presented during the United State will expire from September 30th. Government will take the ordinance route to pass the vote-on-account but at the same time there are apprehensions that passing a budget through ordinance will have legal hurdles. In such case, government will have to convene the Assembly for a day or two.
