Not A Single Application For Jagananna Smart Township

CM Jagan Mohan Reddy had brought in the ‘Jagananna Smart Township’ scheme to offer plots with all facilities to the middle class at rates lower than the market prices.

It has invited Real Estate business owners to execute the projects in PPP mode. The townships are planned in 14 places in seven municipalities in the first phase.

The real estate businessmen are expected to come forward with not less than 20 acres of land. But then, there is no single application so far for anywhere in the state.

Firstly, they are not in favor of doing business with the government. They fear the government will take the lands from them and not transfer the money back like in many cases.

Even the YSR Congress supporting businessmen are also of the same view and did not participate.

Also, it is not easy to purchase 20 acres of land at a stretch and give it to the government.

That makes the business riskier. Furthermore, there are several other rules which make this scheme untenable.
