Call It Shame or Tired but They Caught Napping

The PM’s independence day speech is always a big day but the speech this time was in the news for all the wrong reasons. Whether our policy makers are not getting enough sleep at home or whether the PM’s speech was too long and boring to handle is not clear but quite a few ministers were seen sleeping during the event. It is no wonder then that twitter was flooded with jokes about the same.

Most noticeably, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal who is often in a feud with PM Modi was seen napping in his chair. Later, Arun Jaitley and even defense minister Manohar Parrikar who is often known for his pro-activeness was caught snoozing during the speech that highlighted the achievements and promising growth of the present government.

In this regard, Kejriwal’s Deputy CM Manish Sisodia speculated on twitter that to see these ministers sleeping, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech must have been very boring indeed.
