NTR Gardens to Become History!

Telangana Government is silently working on to uproot the entire NTR Gardens except for NTR Samadhi area to make way for the proposed Ambedkar Park with a 125-foot statue of Dr. BR Ambedkar. The area will be redeveloped as Ambedkar Park.

NTR Park currently has a play zone, toy train, eateries and an amusement area. The cost of the statue will be about 70 crores and the one-acre land was required for the basement of the 125-foot statue. HMDA previously spent 170 Crore to develop NTR Garden.

NTR Garden is popular with tourists and generates good revenue for the HMDA from ticket sales and contracts with commercial outlets inside the party. Ambedkar Statue and Park are expected to cost 200-250 Crore for the state exchequer.
