Opportunity for Sharmila, Threat to Jagan

YS Sharmila who is going to test her luck in Telangana Politics has got an unexpected representation. Amaravati women who have been agitating against the Jagan Government’s decision to trifurcate the Capital have written to her.

They say like how she suffered police brutality recently during Koluvula Deeksha, they have been suffering the same in the hands of Andhra Pradesh Police for around 500 days. They also draw a similarity with Sharmila regarding the coverage in Sakshi.

“Like how your sister-in-law’s Sakshi has been ignoring you, it is happening with us as well in our fight with your Brother’s Government. Your fight against the Government will gain credence only if you come and directly support women like us,” they wrote.

It has to be seen if Sharmila will use this opportunity to position herself against her Brother. We have seen that she has some dissatisfaction with the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister. Positioning herself against Jagan will also showcase that she can differ with him whenever there is a conflict of interest between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

But then such a move will irritate Jagan Mohan Reddy as it may showcase himself as a failure to satisfy his own sister who has done a lot for him while in Opposition.
