Opposition Sharpens New Weapon on Chandrababu

Central Government is mandated to reimburse the first year Revenue deficit of Andhra Pradesh post the state bifurcation. While AP government puts it at over 16000 Crore, Center is trying its level best to downsize the total by various objections.

After several such objections, Center puts the Revenue Deficit at 4117 Crore. Earlier, Opposition Parties have supported the 16000 Crore Number and demanded that the Center should reimburse that. With Center giving clarity over it, the Opposition Parties now want to use it against Chandrababu.

YSR Congress has started alleging that the deficit is actually what is finalized by the Center but Chandrababu Government inflated it intentionally to escape from the Electoral Promises and earn the sympathy of steering the state from deep troubles.

Changing this tune will also help YSR Congress to support BJP if the equations change in that way for 2019 elections. But then, the rationale question is that if there is no deficit then naturally Chandrababu would fulfill all his promises and make his 2019 win easy.
