Did Pawan Kalyan Make Hurried Comments on Modi?

BJP’s Promise of Farm Loans Waiver in Uttar Pradesh and Agriculture Minister’s Assertion that Center will fund it opened the pandora box. The other state governments have already started similar demands. People like Pawan Kalyan went on to say that giving to UP and ignoring AP and Telangana is nothing but divisiveness.

But then, what is happening behind the screens is different. Buzz in the political circles is that the BJP led Central government is contemplating Farm Loans Waiver across the country. It may happen a year before the 2019 Elections to appease the farmers’ community.

The Central government is only focused on reforms until now and will want to do some vote bank politics ahead of the 2019 elections when Modi will be looking at yet another term. On the other side, economic experts say loan waiver will be a massive burden on the country’s exchequer.

Also, if that happens, it will not be only the scale of Runa Mafi happening in Andhra Pradesh or Telangana. It will be a small amount for family and will be executed as one time unlike in Telugu states where the governments are doing that in installments.
