In what could be a shocker move to Telangana MPs, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh all of sudden introduced the amendment bill to Andhra Pradesh reorganization bill-2013. According to the bill, 7 Mandals of Polavaram in Khammam district are recommended to be added to Andhra Pradesh. The bill was not in the scheme of things in Lok Sabha today but was introduced as a surprise as soon as Lok Sabha gathered after adjournment.
TRS MPs have protested against the bill and they were supported by the MPs of Chattisgarh and Orissa who are opposing Polavaram project. On the other side, Andhra Pradesh MPs responded to it demanding for immediate completion of Polavaram project. Amid huge confusion, speaker adjourned the house twice on this issue. Telangana MPs are going to meet President of India this evening to ask him not to sign the bill.
