Politicians Must Retire After 75, Pointed At Modi?

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has said at a meeting that politicians must retire after 75. He went on to say that they must retire gracefully and give way for others.

Now, this has given rise to a debate on social media and media. Many feel the RSS which is the parent organisation of BJP decides the operations of the saffron party. Hence, the RSS chief’s comment has ignited rumours of him hinting at Prime Minister Modi.

PM Narendra Modi is 74 and has a year to go if one were to go by Bhagwat’s remarks. In fact, debates have been held in the past too about Modi’s exit as he is already in his third term as the PM. It is known he also served as the chief minister of Gujarat prior to that.

Incidentally, some channels have gone to the extent of debating who the next PM will be. Many feel that the Prime Minister will gracefully give way to a capable candidate when the time comes.

Not just political analysts, even astrologers were brought on board during debates to highlight the fact that probably it was time for Prime Minister’s exit from active politics.

But a shrewd politician, Narendra Modi hasn’t laid down his cards, as yet. He has largely remained silent so far and hasn’t spoken about a successor.
