Indian Politics League Beating IPL Badly?

Indian politics are completely different breed altogether, considering the kind of tactics and gameplay that are associated here. In fact, the development in Indian politics far supersede the Indian premier league crikey action as well.

The latest developments are indicating that the viewership for IPL has fallen by nearly 25% this year, which is a massive drop, considering the usual standard set by this cricket tournament.

There might be multiple factors contributing to this depletion and viewership, including overdose of Cricket and inadequate performance of top teams like Mumbai and Chennai which have vast fan bases.

But more importantly, it is the political debate, which is gripping the country more than the ongoing season of IPL.

We have the historic BJP victory, West Bengal, and the subsequent pressure on Mamata Banerjee. In Tamil Nadu, we have the ongoing hiatus about the appointment of the new chief minister while cinema star Thalapathy Vijay is kept in the waiting.

Kerala is also witnessing a similar situation where the incoming UDF alliance is unable to fix its chief minister candidate to this day.

Well, so much is happening in the political arena and with the public primary occupied with the same, there is very little leading into the IPL. People have their priorities and entertainment quotients elsewhere.
