Politics More Imp Than Festivals for AP Public: Is This a Wave Election?

We are getting very close to voting day, and we are witnessing unprecedented enthusiasm, or ‘kasi’, as you might call it, among the public. Many are traveling from other cities to AP for polling day.

Gannavaram Airport is experiencing heavy traffic from Hyderabad, Delhi, Bangalore, and Chennai. People landing at this airport are heading to vote in the Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, and Godavari districts.

Individuals traveling from abroad are landing in Hyderabad or Delhi and reaching their native places by car or local flights.

This is shaping up to be one of the most exciting election battles, with expectations set for the highest voter turnout despite the hot weather.

Interestingly, party sympathizers are messaging friends and family, offering free rides in their cars. These are the same people who don’t bother to coordinate travel for festivals, but now the atmosphere is very different.

AP is always divided by politics, and the public gives more importance to politics than festivals.

One thing is certain: looking at the mad rush and enthusiasm to travel to AP from distant cities, paying their own money for travel, and taking leaves from work, this appears to be nothing but a ‘wave’ election.

Such ‘kasi’ or ‘wave’ mood is only seen where there is significant anti-incumbency against the ruling party. We will get a clear picture by Monday evening in this regard.
