Popular Singer Attacked By MLA’s Son

Singer Sonu Nigam was attacked on Monday night by Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena MLA Prakash Phaterpekar’s son and his goons during a music concert in Chembur, Mumbai.

A few years back, Sonu Nigam was in the eye of a storm over his ‘objectionable’ tweets on Azaan and ‘forced religiousness.’ Last year, the then CM of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray, and his ministers came in support of Azaan in Mumbai.

Sonu Nigam is said to be severely injured along with his brother. Both have been taken to Zen Hospital, Chembur. Sonu Nigam said his life was saved because of his boy guards. He said he couldn’t speak more.

We don’t know if the attack on Sonu Nigam by Uddhav Thackeray’s cadre members has any connection with the Azaan controversy or not.

Sonu Nigam is a well-known singer even in Tollywood and has sung many hit songs in films like Jeans, Jayam Manadera, Adavi Ramudu, and Varudu.
