Possibility of Vizianagaram Airport gains momentum?

It is known that Andhra Pradesh government is planning a greenfield airport at Bhogapuram in Vizianagaram district. Experts team of Airports Authority visited the proposed site for the airport to decide if it is possible to construct an airport here. The team had taken note of parameters like distance from sea, climatic conditions, wind directions etc to decide the eligibility.

After getting a tip off, media rushed to the spot and asked the team about the number of acres required for the airport. But the team responded that the issue do not come under their purview they are only analyzing the conditions at the proposed site.

It is rumoured that the airport will come in Bhogapuram, some where between Basavapalem and Dhibbalapalem. The state government is proposing this airport as the current Vishakapatnam airport is in the undertaking of Indian defense.
