Power Cuts looming large on Hyderabad

Hyderabad sighed a huge relief with Telangana government managed to supply 24X7 Power in Summer. However a huge power cuts season is looking large on the city as the Kharif season is about to begin in the state.

In the last crop season, the state machinery aggressively promoted in farmers not to lay crops such as paddy saying that they can not supply power. As a result the Paddy cultivation was down by at least 30% there by there are no power problems.

However farmers are moving back to Paddy this season with the Chief Minister promising nine-hour guaranteed power supply to the agriculture sector. Also the good rain fall in June encouraged the farmers to take up Paddy cultivation. As a result the power demand is increasing steadily and they say Power cuts may be imminent for domestic users in Hyderabad and the rest of Telangana from July end.
