Purandeswari’s allegations falls flat!

The other day BJP Leader Purandhareeswari was saying it would have been better if the money spent on Pattiseema was spent on Polavaram. BJP leaders were trying to project as if the state government is not letting the project go forward but in fact it is the center which is not serious about the project. Till September 16th, the state government had spent 2362.56 Crores on Polavaram Project.

As the project is a national project, these are to be reimbursed by the central government. However the center till date with yesterday’s 300 Crore released 648 Crore. According to the estimations of 2010-11, the project cost is estimated at 16010.45 Crore. Going at the pace of the center, completing it by 2018 is a distant dream.

The state government had asked for 1941 Crore and the center had given just 300 Crore which is not even one-sixth of the requirement. This shows how the center is non-serious about the project. But BJP State leaders every day take tours to the projects and deliver speeches as if the state government is not matching to the flow of funds from the center!
