Raghavulu to head CPM at national level?

Andhra Pradesh CPM General Secretary Raghavulu is in race to become the General Secretary of CPI (M) at the national level. The current General Secretary Prakash Karat is pressing Raghavulu to take up the post after him. Prakash Karat had already been in the post for three times and the party constitution do not allow a person to lead the party more than thrice.

Raghavulu is however not so favour of taking up this post as it may draw non-cooperation from the senior members of the party but Karat is lobbying hard for Raghavulu’s candidature.

However even hardcore CPI (M) supporters are not in favour of this move since Raghavulu had failed steering the party well in the Telugu states. The communists have almost lost their hold across the nation and was decimated to nothing today. They have reasonable presence only in the states of Kerala and West Bengal while they face stiff resistance from people in those states too.
