Railway Zone guaranteed for Vizag!

If the reports in media are to be believed, the Central government is all set to create a separate railway zone with four division with Vishakapatnam as headquarters. According to sources, Railway Minister himself revealed this to Vishakapatnam BJP MP, Haribabu.

However this process may take time and is less likely to be finished by the railway budget that will be tabled this month end. Government wants to reshuffle all the zones in the country and form this new zone with out increasing the number of current zones.

Waltair division will now have to be separated from the existing East Zone and added to Vijayawada, Guntur and Guntakal divisions. Odisha is not at all ready to leave out Waltair division and the center is in the process of convincing the state by adding one more division from Kolkata to it. Recently Chandrababu Naidu also asserted about the state getting new zone in collectors’ meeting. It will be a huge relief if this exercise is complete in this Railway budget itself!
