Raj Kasireddy, A1 in Liquor Scam Wants to Cook in Jail

In a rather interesting turn of events, Raj Kasireddy, A1 in Rs 3500 crore AP liquor scam, has filed a petition in the Vijayawada ACB Court.

The interesting part is that he asked the Court to allow him to cook his own food in jail. In the past, Kasireddy asked for permission for home food. But the Court rejected the plea.

Though there are reports of hi-profile prisoners having access to private kitchens and home-cooked meals while in jail, normally the inmates are not allowed to cook food in Indian prisons.

Law & Order is a state issue and every state has a meal plan based on regional preferences. Each inmate is given food to maintain health and strength.

The guidelines for the amount of food to be given to the inmates is clearly mentioned for all prisons. Given this backdrop, it would be interesting to see what the Court has to say about Raj Kasireddy’s request.
