A1 in the Rs 3200 crore liquor scam, Raj Kasireddy, has been shifted to a government hospital. He is currently a remand prisoner lodged at the Vijayawada district jail.
Sources say Raj Kasireddy is suffering from orthopedic problems. Doctors advised hospitalisation after his health condition required medical attention.
Another accused in the same case, Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy, was also shifted for treatment. He is reportedly suffering from varicose veins.
Raj Kasireddy was arrested in April, 2024 at the Shamshabad Airport while allegedly attempting to leave the country. Before his arrest, he reportedly ignored multiple summons issued by the SIT.
During the YSRCP government, Raj Kasireddy served as the IT advisor. He is accused of playing a key role in the liquor scam.
Despite allegations of money laundering and diverting funds to shell companies to convert black money into white, Raj Kasireddy has denied all charges. He has maintained that he was unaware of any illegal transactions and claims he has nothing to hide.
Meanwhile, A38 Chevireddy was taken to the Vijayawada government hospital due to swelling in his legs. Later, he was referred to AIIMS Mangalagiri for further treatment.
