Rajnath fails to break ice between Telugu States

The division of the institutions listed under Schedule 9 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act is creating new rifts between both the Telugu States. AP is arguing that they can not be given to Telangana only on the grounds that the headquarters are located in Hyderabad.

They are demanding common access to these institutions at least during the common capital period. However Telangana government clarified in the presence of the Union Home ministry that all those institutions located in the region will be under the sole control of the TRS government.

The Telangana Chief Secretary even said that it can allow AP access to these entities only on a payment basis. The meeting arranged by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh failed to break the ice as both the states did not budge from their stances. The Union home secretary L C Goyal closed the meeting urging both the sides to show restraint and wait for the high court judgment on the same.
