Recent Corona Research Delivers Bad News for Countries like India

Research published in the journal Nature Medicine delivered a shock to the people as well as the Government. The study revealed that seemingly healthy people might be most infectious with the novel coronavirus before they show symptoms.

Those who were infected will show symptoms in a maximum of 14 days i.e, the incubation period of the virus. Until the symptoms are not shown, they feel like they are normal and go around everywhere. But the research found that period to be the most infectious period.

Viral shedding – the phase when people may be able to infect others – could begin two to three days before symptoms appeared. And that appears to decline after people began feeling sick. That underlines the importance of testing the asymptomatic people as well.

However, such testing would have huge pressure on the medical infrastructure, staff, and the limited number of testing kits. This will be real bad news for countries like India. Healthy People should wear masks or face coverings outside so as reduce the risk of infecting others.
