Telangana eyes Registration fees to fill coffers

Telangana government is vying all the options to increase its income to fund various ambitious projects planned in the state. The new state is pinning high hopes on the real estate of the capita city to fill its coffers.

The government is planning to increase in property registration values in posh residential areas like Manikonda, Nanakramguda, Tellapur etc., which is being developed recently and a large number of residential apartments and multistoried buildings are coming up. The government will be revising registration rates of all the areas based on the demand of the location.

The new registration values are expected to come into force from August this year. This hike is already planned in the last August but government withdrew it in the last minute as the Chief Minister do not want to give an impression government hiked the taxes after two months of the state formation.
