Regularization widens gap between TRS and MIM!

The already hit ties between TRS and MIM were further worsened by the land regularization policy announced by the government. MIM is of the opinion that this move of the government will legalize several occupied lands of the wakf. They oppose this move of the government terming it pro-rich.

Also there is a controversy that several properties of the wakf are being claimed as government properties. MIM wants to decide the ownership of such lands and then go with the regularization leaving the wakf lands. MIM leaders allege that government has no rights on the wakf properties and it will not be allowed to lay hands on them.

There are 41,596 encroachments covering 2,897 acres in Hyderabad district and the MIM party says that most of these encroached lands belong to wakf. The party urged the government to call a meeting of Muslim religious leaders before finalizing the land regularization policy.
