Renuka Chowdhury Behind the First Defector from TRS

TRS former MLC Potla Nageswara Rao has joined Congress quitting TRS party and is incidentally the first defector from the ruling party. Reports are that Congress Rajya Sabha member Renuka Chowdary contacted him and got him admitted into the Congress.

Potla Nageswara Rao became MLC on Telugu Desam Ticket and defected to the TRS two years ago but had not resigned as MLC. His term ended last year. Congress is trying to bring in more disgruntled leaders from TRS and strengthen itself for 2019 Elections.

On the other side, Renuka Chowdary will be completing her third term in the Upper House in April and is eyeing the Khammam Lok Sabha seat. She is trying to strengthen the party ranks in Khammam and as a part of it brought Potla into the party. Potla is also an industrialist, he established Adam’s Engineering College in 1998 at Paloncha, Khammam District.
