Report: 40% Of Layoffs In USA Are Indian IT Talent

Amidst the recession scare, global IT giants are announcing alarmingly high layoffs. It is estimated that over 2 lakh employees were laid off by the top IT companies in the USA.since last November.

What’s more shocking and alarming for the Indian crowd is that a whopping 40% of these laid off workers are Indian IT talent.

It is reported that over 50,000 Indians with H-1B visas are jobless in the USA following the layoffs by the IT companies and they are left with 60 days or less to find a new job.

In case they don’t find a new job in whatever is left of their 60-day period, the Visa with out of status, post which they will have to make their way back to India. It is reported that a few have already returned to the country, and in the next couple of months, many others might also have to make their way back.

There is also a report, saying that the Telugu population in the laid-off category is also pretty high. Several Telugu IT employees are said to have lost their jobs in the USA in recent layoffs.
