Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has once again targeted KCR and KTR with sharp remarks amid the ongoing debate over water sharing between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. His comments have added intensity to the already heated political atmosphere.
Revanth Reddy said certain people feel anger and contempt when the two Telugu states come together. He referred to KCR as a modern day Sukracharya, calling him the guru of rakshasas, and described his son and former minister KTR as Maricha, a rakshasa.
Drawing from mythology, Revanth Reddy said rakshasas like KCR and KTR try to disrupt yagnyas, whether in ancient times or in modern democracy. He said such forces attempt to derail constructive efforts meant for public good.
He urged people not to be influenced by Sukracharya sitting in a farmhouse or by Maricha attending the Assembly. Revanth Reddy said decisions must be taken wisely and based on facts, especially on sensitive issues like water sharing.
This is not the first time Revanth Reddy has criticised KCR and KTR. Earlier remarks, including a statement that KCR should be hanged, had triggered strong outrage from the BRS.
With water disputes as the backdrop, the war of words between the ruling Congress and opposition BRS continues. While Revanth Reddy supports dialogue with Andhra Pradesh, the BRS insists on a stronger fight for Telangana’s water rights.
