Revanth Reddy Govt Took Less Loans Than KCR’s

After assuming power in Telangana, the Congress government borrowed Rs. 17618 crore in four months including all budget and non-budgetary loans. These loans were taken between December 2023 to April 13, 2024.

During the same period in 2022-23, the BRS government took a loan of Rs. 19569 crore. In 2021-22, it borrowed Rs. 26,995 crore. The Congress government took a lesser loan when compared to the previous BRS government.

The Congress government’s most borrowings came in March 2024, when it took a total loan of Rs. 7718 crore.

On the other side, the Telangana government made repayments of Rs. 25911 crores, including principal and interest, in the last five months.

The Congress government spent around Rs. 207 crores every day to repay debts incurred by the BRS government with interest in the last 125 days.
