Revanth Reddy to be disqualified?

The state election commission had obtained all the evidences regarding Revanth Reddy’s involvement in Cash for Vote including the FSL and ACB Reports. These evidences will be forwarded to Central Election Commission which may consider the disqualification of Revanth Reddy.

CEC can disqualify an MLA if he is awarded by a court but some say Article 10 of People’s Representation Act will allow CEC to issue notices to MLA even before the judgement if it believes there are conclusive evidences. While some other say CEC can not disqualify him unless the case gets a final judgement.

On the other side, Speaker of Telangana Assembly will also have the right to disqualify Revanth Reddy on these allegations. However given several disqualification pleas are pending on MLAs who defected in to TRS, Revanth Reddy’s disqualification will bring a lot of disrespect to the chair. If the disqualification is inevitable, Revanth Reddy may himself resign and go to election.
