River Side farmers slowly falling in line!

As Land pooling progressing, River Side farmers who are initially reluctant to give up their lands seem to be falling in line now. Farmers of Rayapudi, Malkapuram and Mandhada villages to the surprise of the government have come forward voluntarily to give their lands. Pooling in these villages began on Thursday, interestingly 10% farmers gave their agreement letters on Day 1 itself.

It is said that the farmers are in utter confusion regarding the future. The new amendments in the Land Acquisition Act is now favouring the government which means in case of dispute, farmers will be at loss. Also there is a clear lack of leadership in these opposing farmers. There are no one who can bring all the farmers on to a common ground and negotiate with the government. So the farmers are worried if they will lose when remaining farmers are going forward with the pooling.

Farmers of Uddhandarayunipalem, Krishnayapalem, Lingayapalem are still non cooperating with the CRDA officials regarding the land pooling. We will have to see what happens with them in the coming few days!
