Road Block to Hero Motors in AP

The first biggest investment of the truncated Andhra Pradesh, the Hero Motocorp plant in Madannapalem near Sri City SEZ in Chittoor district met with a road block now. The Hyderabad high court had stayed the construction activities at the land allotted to the company.

A person Kishanlal of M/s Ishwariya Orchards and Plantations claimed the ownership of 600 acres allotted to Hero Motors by the AP government. The court asked the company and the state government to halt the construction until further orders.

The next hearing of the case is on July 21. The plant coming up at this SEZ will have an annual capacity of 1.8-2 million units and the company is planning to invest 1600 Crore for the plant. CM Chandrababu Naidu had instructed the district administration and legal experts to look in to the issue and solve it immediately.
