After the horrific crash that killed 250 people including all passengers and crew on board, Tata company announced Rs 1 crore compensation for each of the victim’s family.

On June 12, the London-bound Air India craft crashed within seconds of take off. Barring the miraculous escape of one passenger, everyone on board died in the crash.

The incident sent shock waves across the country and raised questions about air safety in India.

Following the incident, few other Air India flights reportedly developed snags. Just the other day, a flight was delayed for three hours as a bird put its nest in the wings of the craft.

The Trust by Tata Sons which has a 74% stake in Air India, will be called AI171 Trust. Tata Trusts, a major stakeholder in Tata Sons is expected to contribute an equal amount.
