Politics Aside, How Will Farmers Respond?

The Election Commission of India withdrew the permission it has granted for the disbursement of Rythu Bandhu funds citing that the Model Code of Conduct is infringed.

Minister Harish Rao spoke about Rythu Bandhu in a Public meeting that infringes the rule – the Government leaders should not talk about Rythu Bandhu in a bid to draw political advantage. So, the EC has canceled the permission.

When the permission was granted, Political Experts felt that it could be a game-changer for the BRS since money in the bank just before the polling is a deadly move. But this revoking means there is no money and it is lost because of the mistake of a Minister.

BRS leaders are trying to push the blame on Congress leaders for this move of the EC. Kavitha alleged that Congress leaders chased EC and ensured that the money is stopped.

“This is nothing but Congress party’s anti-farmer behavior. Farmers should remember that food just before their mouths were grabbed by the Congress and they should vote accordingly,” Kavitha said.

It is interesting to note that the Election Commission in its order letter regarding the revocation clearly mentioned that it has taken the decision due to the violation by Finance Minister Harish Rao.

Congress leaders will now unleash a campaign pointing fingers at Harish Rao.

Even though the permission was given on the 25th, it was followed by a Sunday holiday and today is also a holiday due to Karthika Pournima. And now the permission is revoked. We will have to see how the farmers respond to this.
