Sakshi Making Merry Under Jagan’s Rule

It looks like Sakshi Media Group is making a merry ever since its Owner rose to the Post of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister. In a reply to an RTI application filed by an activist, the Government has declared that the Media house is the biggest beneficiary of Government advertisement ever since YSR Congress came to Power.

Sakshi Newspaper has got Advertisements worth 52.0331 Crore between May 23rd, 2019 to May 30th, 2020. Normally, Government Advertisements are to be given in the ratio of Circulation. Eenadu is the Highest circulated Newspaper but has got less number of ads than Sakshi.

Eenadu Newspaper has got 39.6488 Crore of Ads during the Same Period. On expected lines, Andhrajyothy which is fighting against the Government has got the least number of Ads even though its Circulation is next only to Eenadu and Sakshi.

Andhrajyothy has got 0.2448 Crore ads during this period less than what Praja Shakti, Visalandra, Andhra Prabha, Andhra Bhoomi, and Vaartha got. All these Newspapers almost have meager circulation in Andhra Pradesh. That indicates the Ruling Government is exercising favoritism violating Rules, the Opposition alleges.
