Sania Served Notice for Not Paying Tax

Famous Indian Tennis Player Sania Mirza received a notice from Service Tax department on Monday asking her to appear before Principal Commissioner of Service Tax in the office on 16th of this month (a week from now) along with the proper documentation or things.

The notice charged Sania under Central Excise Act 1944 and Finance Act 1994 for possessing properties/things that need to be paid 20 lakhs as Service Tax to the government and that she has missed or not paid the same for which Sania or an authorized personal on her behalf need to appear before Service Tax office with proper proofs.

Sources say that the inquiry has been filed on her as she has not given the proper break-up of her earnings and hence this notice has been served to her to produce the proper documents required for the inquiry.
