CBN’s New Health Plan For AP: Sanjeevani

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has announced that Andhra Pradesh will soon launch the Sanjeevani health scheme. It aims to bring quality healthcare directly to the doorsteps of citizens across the state.

The scheme will integrate Ayushman Bharat, NTR health services, and global health innovations. It is being developed in collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and TCS to create digital health records for five crore people.

Chandrababu said that just like Sanjeevani in the Ramayana, this initiative will help save lives by offering accessible and quality healthcare. He added that the scheme will strengthen overall healthcare delivery in AP.

As part of the Swasth Nari-Sashakt Pariwar Abhiyan campaign, special medical camps focusing on women’s health will be organised from 19 September to 2 October. Women will be screened for anaemia, hypertension, diabetes, and cancer.

The campaign was launched by Prime Minister Modi on his 75th birthday. In Andhra Pradesh alone, 14,500 medical camps will be held across sub-health centres and teaching hospitals with the help of 8,181 doctors.

The Medical and Health Department has set a target of screening one crore women and children during the drive. Over 4,000 staff from MEPNA, anganwadis, village and ward secretariats, and health departments will support the doctors.
