Sasikala to Be Moved to Chennai Jail?

Sasikala, the convicted in disproportionate assets case have been sentenced to imprisonment and Supreme Court did mention that she should be imprisoned in Karnataka Jail. And now, Sasikala wants to be moved to Chennai Jail for which the lawmakers of AIADMK are working towards the same.

Sources say that they might have to appeal the transfer to the Karnataka Lawmakers or the Superintendent of the Jail from Parappana Agrahara jail of Bengaluru, where Sasikala is presently at to Puzhal Central Jail of Chennai. Usually for the transfer of a prisoner, it is the higher officials of the two prisons who would be able to process the transfer.

But in Sasikala’s case, Supreme Court have had specified that Sasikala need to be imprisoned in Karnataka prison. Hence the the appeal might need to take approval from the SC for the transfer as said by a Public prosecutor.
