Secretariat shifting to Erragadda dropped?

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s idea of shifting Secretariat to the Chest hospital in Erragadda had met with several technical road blocks. After high court’s stay on the demolition, now it is said that Multistoreyed building can not be allowed in Erragadda due to the close proximity to Begumpet Airport. Amid all these issues, KCR is looking for a new option for Secretariat shifting.

We are said that the Gymkhana and Baison grounds in Secunderabad is the new option in KCR’s mind. Officials have already visited those areas and decided that they are suitable for the proposed secretariat. However shifting to Secunderabad will need the approval of Central government as these grounds belongs to them.

The state government feels that it should not be difficult after the Central government is shown proper alternatives. Also the secretariat coming at Secunderabad may not be so much of high as planned before. But the only concern with this plan is the secretariat is going very far from the core regions of Hyderabad city.
