Section 8 controversy reaches High Court!

The controversy of Section 8 in Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act had now reached Hyderabad High Court. Seema Andhra Gazetted Officers of Secretariat filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in high court demanding that Section 8 of the Reorganization Act should be implemented immediately.

They also asked the high court to order the Central government to abide by all the promises made during the bifurcation time. Both the state governments and the Central government were included in this petition.

The high court had admitted the petition and will be taking it up very soon. It has to be seen how the judiciary interprets the Section 8 which was an integral part of the Reorganization Act which was passed in the Parliament.
